Continue reading to know more about this.

A couple of simple steps:

  • You need to follow these simple steps when you wish to polish your aluminum wheels. You will require a few terrycloth towels or rags for cleaning the wheels after each stage of the polishing process.
  •   To reach all parts of the wheels easily you must take them off the vehicle. You should also take off the center caps, wheel weights, valve stem covers, stickers or any other part that may obstruct the process.
  •  After that clean the dirt from the wheels using water and soap. Make sure that the soap used is suitable for vehicles.
  •   For the second cleaning, apply an oven cleaner spray, leave for around 20 minutes and then scrub it off.
  • Check the rims for any kind of curb rash. If you come across any then you can remove it by filing it with a flat file.
  •  Remove any pitting on the wheels with the help of 400-grit sand paper or a flexible foam sanding pad of a fine grade.
  •   Rinse the wheels with water and dry them using a towel.
  •   Then you need to apply an aluminum brightening cleaner to the wheels. This will restore the aluminum and remove oxidation.
  •  Apply the polish which maybe in the form of a liquid or a paste. A toothbrush covered in a soft cloth can be used to polish those areas that are difficult to reach.
  •  Apply finishing polish and then wipe it with cloth.
